Analyst (Sector Specialist for Energy)/OG-3:
- To write sector specific assessment for SBP's flagship publications (Annual & Quarterly Reports);
- To be part of the editing team for SBP's flagship publications and gather and format data for graphs/tables to accompany write-ups;
- To review all relevant publications, collect data and create a summary of relevant reports for future reference;
- To take the initiative in preparing stand-alone policy papers for internal discussions with top management;
- To prepare policy assessments at short notice for SBP's top management (including the Governor);
Candidate must
- Have a sound macro picture of Pakistan's energy challenges;
- Know the key players in this sector, and how they interface;
- Have a handle on existing tariff structures;
- Understand the envisaged reform agenda for this sector.
Eligibility Criteria:
Qualification: Master's Degree/ 16 years of formal education in Economics (with at least 65% marks where percentage system applies, or, CGPA of 3.5 where GPA system applies) from a recognized Pakistani or a foreign university.
Experience: 1 to 4 years working experience in a commercial or government agency, doing high quality policy research.
Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on the last date of submission of applications.
Competencies:
Candidates must have following competencies:
- Very strong writing skills and have managed and published good quality analytical reports on Pakistan's economy
- Very strong inter-personal skills and be able to build and manage relationships with corporate executives; top government officials; and senior economists at international agencies
- Must be able to read balance sheets and analyze reasons for good/bad performance
- Must have a proven track record of independent research, preferably in the area of specialization.
Location: All positions are Karachi based in the permanent cadre of SBP.
Compensation Package:
- Negotiable salary package in the salary scale of OG-3 in accordance with the experience and qualification of the candidate.
